Highlights: Passengers with single name on their passport cannot visit UAE as per new passport rule
- Candidates having single name on their passport will are not allowed to enter UAE
- First and second names are mandatory in the passport
- The rule will applicable from November end of this year for tourist or visit visas
- Candidates having both names written in either first name or second name column will be allowed to fly to the UAE
- Candidates having single name in the first column but have father’s or family name on the second page are also allowed to visit UAE
Passengers having single name on their passports not allowed to visit the UAE
The United Arab Emirates issued guidelines that passengers coming to visit the country need to have their full names on their passport. Passengers having single name will not be allowed to fly to the UAE. If candidates have single name on the first name column, but have father or family name on the second page, will also get permission to visit UAE.
UAE passport rules for travelers
Passport holders having the name in single word in either the first name or second name column in their passport will not be allowed to enter the country. Passengers having both names mentioned in either the first name or the second name column will be allowed on the basis of clerical error.
Passengers having single name on their passport but have family or father’s name on the second column on the second page will also be permitted to visit UAE. This rule will be applied for the people who hold the following types of visas:
- Visit visas
- Visas on arrival
- Employment visas
- Temporary visas
This rule will not be applicable for the Indian citizens having UAE resident cards.
