In the latest provincial draw to be held by Manitoba, a total of 218 Canada immigration candidates have received invitations in Manitoba’s Expression of Interest draw – EOI Draw #107 – held on January 28, 2021. Of these, 13 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates.
The previous MPNP draw – the first draw by Manitoba in 2021 – was held on January 14, 2021.
Each year, many newcomers find their way to Manitoba in Canada by securing a nomination by the province – on the basis of their connection to the community, education, and skills – under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program [MPNP].
The MPNP offers a pathway to Canadian permanent residence to skilled workers and entrepreneurs, as well as their families.
An Express Entry candidate that is successful in securing a PNP nomination is allotted 600 additional points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score. A PNP nomination is a guarantee of receiving an invitation to apply [ITA] by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] in the next federal draw to be held. |
The MPNP has various immigration pathways leading to Canada PR, each targeted at a specific class of immigrants. The categories available under the MPNP are –
- the Skilled Worker Stream [includes skilled workers within Manitoba and overseas]
- Business Investor Stream, and
- International Education Stream [IES].
An “established connection” to Manitoba will be required by a skilled worker applying from overseas under the MPNP’s Skilled Worker stream.
